Black Belt
Q & A

Street safe is a group of independent martial arts schools, that work together under the W.D.B.O. to provide students with the opportunity to train under different instructors at no extra cost. If work commitments get in the way, then you can attend another academy when it suits you and this will not cost you a penny more.

The training is scenario based on realistic street attack, dealing with the common attacks and range that the attacks take place and with the correct ferocity. Training does not include, what is seen in most martial arts classes with compliant partners standing in a ridiculous stances at a unrealistic distance to attack. Your common sense will tell you that nobody will attack you like that unless they are brained washed to do so. If your training is based on this and the only difference in training is that the black belts are still doing the same thing but only faster then I suggest you leave and find a real martial art of self defence. If your life depends on it the it, it had better work?

You will not learn to block and counter as in reality when you are countering the attacker will have hit you with their second technique. This will only invite certain defeat. Lots of arts stand so far away that when you step back to block (no point in blocking their attack) as this will not get anywhere near you, when you just step back. What is this teaching you, you may well ask.

Martial Arts is the only industry that constantly teachers its workers (trainees, students, instructors) how to do their job badly. Most of the teaching method are built on old wives tales and assumptions and that what's Master so and so said.

Join us and be prepared for a realistic training regime, if you can handle it as most others from different arts just give in to the feeling helplessness, as just too much time has been lost in the past on the above block and counter and attacking and defending from unrealistic distances.

Sports Martial Arts can be very detrimental to the over 40s in the way they train, this can be compared to football as when a player reaches 36 or younger their career is often over. Now if you go on training in the same way in trying to do faster higher kicks, the body simple can not handle this and will suffer chronic injury in such as ankle, knee, hips, back, neck and shoulder this will often end your career, and martial arts are supposed to be for life. The instructor will not suffer as much as they will be teaching and not putting themselves through the same demanding workout as the 20 year olds. Often the instructor will after getting a black belt after 2 and half years open a school with little or no experience and in reality there training days are over.

When the so called no rules competitions started in the mid 90s all sort martial arts entered and failed dismally an do not enter now as the lessons have been learned (not to enter). Before this they all believed in their own hype and folly in believing they had to step back and do a reverse punching and it would be over. Well sadly it was all over for the person who step back and tried to punch? Why because they did not have a compliant partner like in a real self defence situation.

The Instructor who has been tested in a real life street scenario and often defeated will have now little faith in their art. knowing fights are not like it is in the class and will not be brave enough as ego drives this as they will not want to find a practical self defence and forgo their black belt and ranks to start again. They would have to close down their school and ego does not permit this, what in realty happens but rarely they train in a practical self defence in secret and continue to teach their class or more likely just brush it of and hope that it never happens again. I know many high ranking instructors who if they knew this when they started would never have chosen the martial art they are in now. But because they teach and can not forgo this, they are forced to cross train in private to bolster their defence and confidence in their ability to defend then selves.

I simply say this to them, why waist so many hours a week doing something that you now know is of little or no use at all and continue to con your students into the same old trap. If their life depends on it then how can you morally do this, be brave and step up to the plate and hit a home run.

Students from different arts have been know to break down and cry after accepting the correct way after realising the error of their ways, that's OK providing you now move on and not to be conned any more. If you are attacked then if your life or your love ones life depends on it then you better have a reality based self defence.

Advance training will deal with the direct stress, pressure testing scenario as and how it happens in the street under attack from being mugged, raped, killed etc. The advance training is based on pressure points that work under real attack scenario that will not fail under battlefield conditions. Not just when the attacker is standing like a sitting duck frozen in time like a manakin.

Advance Instructors training will learn the ultimate family system of self defence that will be release for the first time in print in the book soon to be released Tanswells simplicity in self defence, get in first, the only chance to survive an attack. The instructor will also lean hostage defence against a knife, gun and multiple attackers. If you are fortunate to learn the Tanswells self defence you will be learning the smallest self defence ever devised, this self defence is so small its unbelievable and unbeatable.
